ABOUT ME
I'm Neil Nilakant, an amateur photography enthusiast based in New Zealand since 1988. As a nature lover, I've spent years exploring the great outdoors, capturing the stunning beauty of our world through my lens.
New Zealand's diverse landscapes—its hills, lakes, parks, gardens, beaches, and mountains—have been the perfect backdrop for my passion since the mid-1990s. Over the years, I've snapped many photos, and now I'm excited to share some of them with you on this website.
My journey began with a humble point-and-shoot film camera, but as my skills developed, I upgraded to an SLR film camera. In 2005-2006, I went digital and discovered a whole new world of possibilities. I'm a Canon user, having started with a Canon SLR film camera and sticking with the brand due to my collection of Canon lenses. In recent years, I have also shot with Fujifilm cameras like the Fujifilm X100S and the more recent Fujifilm X-S10. I like their colour rendition. I shoot in RAW format to capture every detail, and then I use Adobe Lightroom to fine-tune my photos.
Join me on this visual adventure through New Zealand's stunning scenery and discover the magic of nature through my photography.
